Later that same year, Roe was cast as the male lead Holt in the long-awaited third instalment of the horror franchise, "Rings" (2016) and bad boy Hunter Strawberry in Cape Cod coming-of-age drama "Hot Summer Nights" (2016). But his profile grew considerably when he appeared alongside Chloe Grace Moretz as mysterious farm boy Evan Walker in the young adult movie "The 5th Wave" (2016). "Unstrung" (2014), a failed TV pilot in which he played one of two siblings competing on the pro tennis circuit, was followed by a minor role in direct-to-DVD action sequel "Sniper: Legacy" (2014). A year later, Roe was cast as popular high school swimmer Elliott Baden in teen drama "The Cut" (BBC Two, 2009-2010) and following one-off appearances in British TV institutions "Holby City" (BBC One, 1999-), "Doctors" (BBC One, 2000) and "Hollyoaks" (Channel 4, 1995-), he decided to move to Los Angeles to further pursue his acting career. After gaining a scholarship to the Hammersmith sixth-form that boasts Hugh Grant, Lily Cole and Alan Rickman as former pupils, Roe was spotted by Jennifer Saunders in a school play and invited to guest on her cosy countryside sitcom "Jam and Jerusalem" (BBC One, 2006-09). Born in Westminster, London in 1990, Roe made his acting debut aged ten playing the Antichrist in demonic horror "The Calling" (2000) and after a five-year break returned to screens as Jay Keaton, a teenage nerd who discovers a case of illegal child cloning in the children's sci-fi series "The Fugitives" (CITV, 2005). British actor Alex Roe became the next big young adult heartthrob when he starred in dystopian sci-fi "The 5th Wave" (2014) before landing the lead male role in horror sequel "Rings" (2016).
